PASTOR & SPOUSE DINNER
A Winter Banquet is sponsored by the EMA for pastors and their spouses on Thursday, February 9th at the Dorsey House at 6:00 p.m.  Call Pastor Dallas Berry to RSVP at 364-4540.

PRAYER & PRAISE
A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, February 7th at 7:00 p.m. at Riverside Tabernacle Church of God, 3675 N River Road in Fort Gratiot.   Future Prayer & Praise services will be the 2nd Tuesday monthly at various churches.

COMPASS CHRISTIAN BUSINESS ALLIANCE
The next COMPASS lunch meeting will be on Wednesday, February 15th.  Our guest speaker is Richard Warren.  The meeting will begin at 11:45 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m. at the Black River Country Club.  The cost is $10 per person and reservations must be made in advance by calling OT at 810-966-8660 or by e-mail to abby@optrans.org.  2012 COMPASS Membership information can be found on the OT website and COMPASS website at:  www.CalledToBusiness.org.

SCHOLARSHIPS
The Kiwanis Club of Port Huron is offering two $500 Spiritual Life Scholarships for graduating high school seniors.  The completed application is due by April 2nd.  The Kiwanis Club is also offering 2 Community Service Scholarships, which are due by April 30th.  Call OT for an application of either scholarship or further information.

JOB OPENINGS
Several churches are looking for church secretaries/administrators.  Call OT if interested.   

SINGLE ADULT WEEKEND
“Becoming All You Can Be” is the theme for a Singles Weekend on March 9-10.  It is hosted by Marysville Assembly of God, with other churches participating.  The speaker will be Dennis Franck, Director of Single Adult Ministries for the Assembly of God.  The Seminar will be Friday night and all day Saturday.  Call the church for more information at 364-6164. 

PASTOR’S PRAYER & COMMUNITY PRAYER TIMES
There is Pastor’s Prayer every Thursday at 8:00 a.m. at the MOC.  Prayer requests may be called or emailed (Brenda@optrans.org) to OT any time.

FAMILY NIGHT AT BW FESTIVAL
OT is overseeing events for Family Night on Thursday, July 12th.  If you are interested in planning, volunteering or getting your church involved, please call OT.

OUTREACH TO MILITARY SERVICE PERSONNEL
OT is still accepting old cell phones, MP3 players and I-pods to recycle.  They will be sold to bless our troops with prepaid calling cards.

“FAITH MATTERS” RADIO SPOT
Tom shares weekly at 8:00 a.m. on Mondays at WGRT, 102.3FM.

2/1 COMMUNITY SERVICE - “One in Christ”
Celebrating the Legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., had nearly 500 in attendance (42 pastors) on January 15th.  Mr. Anthony Jones did a wonderful job as our guest speaker.

2/1 PASTOR’S BREAKFAST
OT sponsored a Pastor’s Breakfast, on January 14th.  Port Huron Police Chief Reaves spoke to 45 pastors on his new community policing concept and the 23 zones the city will divided into.  He is looking for churches to be an “anchor” and support for each zone neighborhood and officer.

1/1 CERTIFICATION
“A Beautiful Me”, founded by Karen Palka, officially received Certification by the Operation Transformation Certification Team.  This means that after careful review, all of their paperwork and policies are in order.  This is a non-profit that works with girls and teenagers to develop self-esteem, confidence and independence.

1/1 CHRISTMAS OUTREACHES
A special Christmas program was held for 486 inmates at the Intervention Center on December 7th, which included receiving Christmas cards, a special Christmas booklet, hearing the Christmas message, caroling and a gift.  About 75 books were collected for the children of inmates.  OT also sponsored a day of bell-ringing at the mall to help raise funds for the Salvation Army. 

2011. . .

12/1 MOBILE FOOD PANTRY MEETING
OT helped facilitate a meeting for churches doing mobile food distributions. Alice Rieves of Mid-City Nutrition is thankful for the many churches that are involved and wants to coordinate this effort better! This group of churches will be meeting on a quarterly basis.

12/1"COURAGEOUS" MOVIE
Information on the "Courageous" movie (and an endorsement for them to see it) was distributed to all St. Clair County Deputies and Port Huron Police Officers. Many attended!

12/1 THANKSGIVING SERVICE
A Thanksgiving Service by the Blue Water Area Churches was held November 22nd. There was a beautiful spirit of unity as 200 people attended to praise our heavenly Father!

12/1 YOUTH LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
A Youth Leadership Conference was held on Nov. 5th. OT was one of the sponsors. 89 young people received excellent instruction on growing in their faith and sharing it!

11/1 OT BANQUET
The annual OT Benefit Banquet was again a great success!  Approximately $35,000 net proceeds were raised, with close to 500 in attendance!  Thanks to all who came and made a contribution.

11/1 NEIGHBORHOOD OUTREACH PROJECT
The 9th Neighborhood Outreach, in conjunction with “Make a Difference Day”, was held on Saturday, October 22nd.  About 120 people volunteered to help senior citizens, clean parks, do minor jobs for several churches, help with schools and non-profits to make a difference!  A big thanks to Great Commission for hosting us and Colonial woods for supplying the lunch for all!

9/1 BLUE WATER AREA CHURCHES (formerly E.A.C.H.)
The new website is bluewaterareachurches.net.  OT sponsored a logo contest for t-shirts and future projects.  Dave Caswell was the winner and received $50!

9/1 CHRISTIAN CRUISE
OT sponsored a “Christian Cruise” on the Huron Lady on August 5th.  About 100 people came out for an evening of fun, fellowship and cruising as we enjoyed our lovely Blue Water Area!

9/1 FARMFEST
This worship weekend in August was a wonderful success!  It was planned by young adults for young adults, who were serious about growing in their relationship with God.  This year, 88 attended from 11 different schools and 23 different churches! 

8/4 OT SOFTBALL TEAMOT Team
The 2011 Blue Water Church League Class A champions were Operation Transformation. They only lost 1 game during the regular season. They also won the Blue Water Church League Class A Playoffs, defeating Colonial Woods Missionary Church in the best 2 out of 3. Colonial Woods also came in 2nd during the regular season. Operation Transformation also won the State Amateur Softball Association Division II Title. They finished the season with an overall record of 26-3.

6/1 DOCTORATE CONGRATULATIONS!
Tom Seppo has received his Doctorate of Ministry Degree this month.  Congratulations!

6/1 COMPASS CHRISTIAN BUSINESS ALLIANCE SCHOLARSHIP WINNER
Congratulations to Lexie Goetze!  She is the winner of the COMPASS Christian Business Alliance Business Scholarship and received $500 to help with her college costs.  She will be attending SC4 to major in Physical Therapy.

6/1 NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
Thursday, May 5th was the National Day of Prayer. There was a Prayer Service at noon at the MOC, with 100 attending.  There was also a 7:00 p.m. Evening Prayer Service at Colonial Woods Missionary Church, in conjunction with EACH, with 75 attending.  OT coordinated a Prayer Breakfast for the City of Port Huron for community leaders and pastors with 85 attending.  Continue to pray for our country and local community!

2/1 COMMUNITY SERVICES
“One in Christ” - Celebrating the Legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., was the title of the Community Service being sponsored by OT and SSMA, PHMA and EMA (all 3 minister’s associations) on January 16th.  Rev. Christopher Brooks was the special guest speaker. This was a wonderful time to worship the Lord with a unified Body of Christ in the Blue Water Area.  This year, 48 different churches were represented, with 52 ministers and about 300 in the audience!
