AREAS OF MINISTRY – "THE 7 C’s"
OT works with faith-based organizations by: administrating for the Blue Water Area Churches ministerial association, planning collaborative services and outreaches,serving on committees, sponsoring pastor weekly prayer meetings, and planning seminars.OT also maintains a current database of churches and ministers, and welcomes new ministers to the Blue Water Area. OT works with organizations to represent the faith-based community and perspective. OT is a support to, and seeks to build relationships with, community and civic leaders. OT also looks for ways to benefit the area through community service projects. Some areas OT has assisted with include: recovery from addiction, health, hunger, blight, foster care, and homelessness.
OT has developed a division called COMPASS Christian Business Alliance. COMPASS Christian Business Alliance endeavors to EQUIP, ENCOURAGE, and CONNECT Christians in Southeast Michigan who are called to the marketplace. Compass currently operates in St. Clair, Macomb & Wayne counties. Anyone in the marketplace is welcome to attend monthly lunch meetings. Learn more at www.michigancompass.org.
OT oversees the Spiritual Life Ministry at the St. Clair County Intervention Center. OT provides volunteer chaplaincy
services (as requested) to the City of Port Huron Police Department, local hospitals and schools. OT is also available to provide spiritual services to business and others in a variety of settings.
OT plans, sponsors and collaborates on programming geared toward children and youth to teach character, strong morals, spiritual principles and academics. OT provides resources, encouragement, and hope through sports events, seminars, school assemblies, outreaches, and fun events.
OT has developed a program to ensure that faith-based, non-profit organizations operate at the highest standards by reviewing their legal, financial and procedural aspects. Recommendations are made by professionals in each area so an organization can be certified that they are following sound business principles through a yearly review. A Self-Review Checklist is also available for current 501(c)(3) organizations to utilize.
OT is a liaison for communication and information between faith-based, civic, business groups and individuals. This is accomplished using social media, internet TV, radio, video, direct mail, email, texting, and speaking engagements.
