Responding to Trials

In the workplace, there is no doubt we have all experienced our share of trials. They come in many forms; pressure from deadlines, relationships with others, failed projects and more.

The Bible says the purpose of trials is to test our faith in order to produce endurance. Endurance matures us and conforms us to be more like Jesus.

The book of James tells us to respond with Joy. On the surface this may seem like a strange response, but it's only strange if we do not understand the purpose of trials.

We have the choice to respond with things like anger, bitterness and giving up. Or we can chose to respond with Joy. The good news is, God gave us the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and assist us through these trials.

James 1:2-4

Considering it great joy my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature lacking nothing.

Romans 8:28

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
